An actor who wins an award when pitted against such great names like Judy Davis (of Husbands and Wives Fame) and Vanessa Redgrave, she better be deserving of it. This was however not the case when the name of Marisa Tomei was announced as the winner in 1992. Legend has it that Marisa never in actual fact won the Oscar rather the actual winner was Vanessa. The grapevine is still abounding with stories about how Palace, the award presenter, was so drunk on the night of the Oscars that he announced the wrong name. When the academy realized that the price had been given to the wrong person, they did not know how to take it back and hence the mess.
