Cooking a big dinner can be complicated, and sometimes it seems like you need to do eight different things at once. There are some basic steps you can take, however, that can make cooking easier, and give you better results. Here are some simple cooking tips from famous chefs.
#1 Get Everything Ready in Advance
Before you start cooking, get everything you need ready. Have your recipe handy, gather your ingredients, and assemble all of the tools you need, from measuring spoons to baking pans. Wash and dice vegetables, mince fresh herbs, and measure out dry ingredients. When you have everything staged like this before you begin cooking, it is known as “mise en place.” Once you turn on the stove, everything you need is ready to go, and it makes the cooking a breeze. ~ Chef Bryan Tobias
