#6 Smash The Garlic
If you’ve ever gotten frustrated trying to remove the papery skin from a clove of garlic, the secret is to smash it. Place the clove on a cutting board, then slice off both of the tips. Now lay your chef’s knife flat on top of the garlic, parallel to the cutting board. Press down on the knife to smash the garlic. This loosens the skin, and makes peeling the garlic quick and easy. ~ Chef Joseph Klug
