#9 – Cantor’s Giant Softshell Turtle (Pelochelys cantorii)
All turtles have hard, almost unbreakable shells, right? Well, no. There are some species with soft shells and some of those species get really large. Such a giant soft shell turtle is the Cantor’s Softshell Turtle. This freshwater turtle, also known as the Asian Giant Softshell Turtle is extremely rare and is considered an endangered species. It spends about 95% of its entire life buried with only his eyes and mouth peeking out, so to grab its food. They can grow up to 2 m in length. Finally, it can be found in Asia along riversides.
