Though the Staten Island Ferry is technically a commuter ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island, it is also a popular option for visitors wanting to see the Statue of Liberty. Instead of paying $12 for an official Statue of Liberty tour, just hop on the free Staten Island Ferry as it offers a spectacular view when it passes. Then just exit the ferry and hop back on to get back to the city.
