Invention #11 World Wide Web (WWW)
Finally… without this guy you wouldn’t be reading this right now. In fact we wouldn’t have been able to post this, or anything else, online if it hadn’t have been for this very clever person. This is Sir Tim Berners-Lee and he created the World Wide Web (WWW). The original idea was to use it as a means to enable scientists at the Cern laboratory to communicate with each other over distances and share their work. It quickly grew into a much larger animal, thanks to it being freely available, and now the whole world enjoys the benefits of this fantastic invention. Thank you Sir Tim!
