#4 – Dimebag Darrell
The life of the “rich and famous” is not always as glamorous as people think and sometimes ends in tragedy. The same thing happened to Dimebag Darrell, famous guitarist and founder of the band Pantera, on December 8th, 2004.
While performing at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, with his band Damageplan in front of a crowd of 200 people, Dimebag Darrell was shot three times in the head, by Nathan M. Gale, with a 9-mm Beretta 92FS.
Unfortunately, Gale did not stop here and also shot and killed club employee Erin Halk, bodyguard Jeff “Mayhem” Thompson and Nathan Bray and also injuring drum technician John “Kat” Brooks.
Police officer James Niggemeyer was the man who stopped Nathan Gale by shooting him in the head with a 12-gauge Remington 870 shotgun, leading to instant death. In the aftermath of this tragedy, it was found that Nathan M. Gale suffered from schizophrenia and had stopped taking his medication.
