#2 – Watch Your Weight
If you are hoping to make a baby, your weight can have an impact on your success. Women who are underweight may ovulate less, and have difficulty finding that magic window for conception. It can also affect the health of a foetus if a pregnant woman does not take in enough nutrients.
On the other hand, having a BMI of over 29 can mean that it takes longer to conceive. Excessive weight is also associated with hormone issues that can make it more difficult to become pregnant and carry the pregnancy to term. If you are hoping to conceive, visit your doctor and discuss whether or not your weight could be an issue. Start exercising—it doesn’t have to be extreme— and keeping an eye on your diet. Gentle exercise and a healthy weight in the middle of the BMI range will make conception much easier, and you’ll feel better too!
