#4 – Turritopsis dohrnii – Immortal Jellyfish

The Turritopsis dohrnii, commonly known as the “immortal jellyfish” is found in the temperate waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the Sea of Japan. They are small jellyfish, measuring just 5mm and are capable of reverting completely to a sexually immature, colonial stage after having reached sexual maturity as solitary individuals. It is the only known jellyfish to have developed the ability to reverse the biotic cycle and as a result, achieve biological immortaility.
