As mentioned previously when it comes to sex women carry a different standard than men; thus, making it difficult to discuss topics like STDs with anybody.  Embarrassment is a driving factor for most women that keeps this a lifelong secret.  If you have ever had an STD and it has been treated and cured then there really is no reason to discuss this with your current partner.  However, if you have an STD that is not curable, current, and still taking treatments for then this has to be addressed even if you are practicing safe sex.
