#8 – America’s Next Top Model
Since 2003, America’s Next Top Model has been the place to go for fashion and reality drama. Helmed by supermodel Tyra Banks, ANTM has potential supermodels competing for the chance to win a lucrative modelling contract via a series of modelling challenges. These challenges are all fashion related, and contestants also have to model in a weekly photoshoot. Every week the women are assessed by a panel of expert judges, including Tyra, and one is voted off.
The show is extremely successful, and spent two seasons as the top ratings-earner for its channel The CW. It is also broadcast to over 150 other countries, some of which have also made their own versions of the show. Part of the reason for the show’s success is its tendency to emphasise the competition between contestants; if you want to see a catfight, this is the show for you.
