#4 – Keeping Up with the Kardashians
Keeping Up with the Kardashians focuses on the glamorous lives of Bruce and Kris Jenner and their kids: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Rob, Kendall, and Kylie. The Kardashian family was already well known in the media before the show started in 2007: Kris’ first husband, Robert Kardashian (father of Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob) rose to prominence after defending OJ Simpson in his 1994 murder trial. Kim was a familiar face to the tabloid media due to her connections with numerous celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. She was also the subject of a leaked sex tape.
The show has caused some controversy in the past. Kim’s 72-day marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries in 2011 led to accusations that it was a sham to increase ratings. Kim is undoubtedly the show’s most recognisable star, but the as the series goes on and more cast members are added (included Bruce Jenner’s sons from his first two marriages) it’s quite possible that more Kardashians will start making their mark as individuals.
The show has spawned a few spin-offs, including Khloé and Lamar (a show following Khloé and her husband) and Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
