#3 – What’s Inside an ATM?

No! It’s not a little generous man with an endless supply of money sitting inside that heavenly machine called ATM. What’s inside an ATM is actually pretty boring. It comprises of a CPU that controls the user interface and transaction devices. A magnetic or chip card reader so it can identify the customer. PIN pad EEP4 which is similar in design to a touch tone or calculator keypad that is manufactured as part of a secure enclosure, a secure cryptoprocessor, a record printer which provides the customer with a record of the transaction made, a vault which restricts access to certain parts of the machinery. And finally, the sensors and indicators complete the package.
