#2 – Red Meat Is Bad For You
Conventional dietary wisdom will suggest that red meat is bad for you because it is full of saturated fat. Let’s get one thing straight: we’re not talking about processed meats such as sausages, burgers and sandwich meat. They are bad for you. But grass fed animals that produce lean steaks, ground beef, lamb and pork are good for you.
A systematic review of over 20 research studies carried out by the Harvard Public School of Health revealed that there is absolutely no association between the consumption of quality red meat and heart disease, stroke or diabetes. Red meat is a great source of protein, iron and B vitamins. There’s no need to eat red meat daily, but several good portions a week will be beneficial for your health, rather than detrimental.
