#5 – Magnesium

Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in the human body – it is involved in over 300 enzyme processes, including every enzyme associated with energy production, and enzymes required to synthesize DNA, RNA and proteins. Serious magnesium deficiency is destructive and symptoms can include muscle cramps, heart disease, diabetes, headaches & acid reflux, hypertension, asthma, diabetes, migraines, PMS, asthma, hypothyroidism and more. It is suggested that most people are at least midly deficient in this most important of minerals.
Good natural sources of magnesium include nuts and seeds, whole grains and green leafy vegetables (especially organic) and magnesium is usually included in most good multi-vitamin supplements.
