#5 – Clean Up Your Registry
Problem: Your computer’s registry contains important information about system hardware, installed programs and settings, and profiles of each of the user accounts on your computer. Unfortunately, when software is uninstalled and accounts are deleted, the entries in the registry remain and over time, these exraneous entries can slow down your computer.
Solution: Fortunately, cleaning up your registry is a quick and simple task by using the excellent free CCleaner software programme, which we recommended in the first tip. Simply open up the software, click on the Registry box, Scan for Issues and then follow the instructions. Run this every few months or more frequently if you’ve recently uninstalled a lot of software or removed accounts from your computer.
