#7 Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore broke out in the 1993 film Short Cuts, which won a Golden Globe for Best Ensemble. She received Oscar nominations in 1998 for her role in Boogie Nights, and again in 2000 for The End of the Affair. In 2003, her biggest year yet, she was nominated for two roles – best actress in a supporting role in The Hours, and best leading actress in Far From Heaven. She suffered the same fate as Sigourney Weaver, walking away without an Oscar despite being nominated twice.
