After growing up in poverty in Mississippi, Oprah Winfrey headed for Tennessee State University in 1972, but dropped out to become a local television anchor. We have a feeling that the TV thing’s probably going to work out for her.

Interestingly, Oprah finally went back to school and earned her degree in 1987.
