The dark side of Twitter has been hitting the headlines again this week, after threats were made to two female MPs and a feminist campaigner. But let’s not let those trolls spoil our fun! Twitter allows us to connect with our favourite celebrities, find out breaking news first and most importantly – witness the fascinating spectacle of two celebrities firing slurs at each other in under 140 characters. Witnessing one of these tweet-offs makes you feel like David Attenborough crouched in a bush watching two giraffes thrash each other with their own necks. You’re at a safe distance, but you know you’re witnessing something rare and savage (that will probably be permanently deleted in half an hour). And sometimes, just when you think it’s over, the underdog comes from nowhere and swipes the other with the comeback of the century. And it’s brilliant.
Here are 10 of the best Twitter arguments to date.
#1 – Rihanna vs. Joan Rivers

In a battle of the divas, Rihanna came to blows with Fashion Police presenter Joan Rivers over the singer’s ex, Chris Brown.
Rivers tweeted: “Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it’s MY turn to slap her.”
Rihanna replied: “@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you’re old huh?”
Making sure she got the last word, Rivers wrote: “Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again. Read the statistics. PS – Love to have you on Fashion Police!”
Now that would be an interesting episode!
