#5 – The Gallagher Brothers

Most music industry grudges happen between members of rivals bands, other artists or managers in the industry. But sometimes they occur within the same band and even in this case within the same family.

The Gallagher brothers have had so many notorious falling outs it’s difficult to know where to begin. A root of the problem could be put down to a time in the late 90’s where Noel received much acclaim for his songwriting in hit Oasis albums Definitely Maybe and What’s the Story? Liam seemed to think he should be given more credit for his role in the band’s success.

The final straw came in a Paris dressing room in 2009. Liam wanted to promote his New Fashion label Pretty Green in the Oasis tour program which Noel opposed. The row escalated and ended with Liam ‘wielding a guitar like an axe’ that Noel claims ‘nearly took my face off. Noel walked out and later posted on the Oasis webpage that he had left the band. ‘It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer…’.
