In 2009, Charla Nash was attacked as she attempted to get a friend’s chimpanzee to return to the house. The 200lb chimpanzee ripped off Nash’s nose, lips, eyelids, and hands. Nash had a full face transplant as well as a double hand transplant but the hand transplant failed and the hands were later removed. She is blind from the attack as well.
