Some people claim that by consuming a lot of protein can harm your kidneys and bones. People believe this because protein increases the process of calcium excretion from the bones. However, this happens only for a short period of time; in the long run, protein actually improves the health of your bones and can decrease the risk of fracture. Furthermore, a study published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed evidence that protein actually protects you from getting a kidney disease.
