#3 Drink More Water

Water is possibly the most important key to life. Your body is around 70% water and it’s vital in virtually all body functions including transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells, metabolism and regulating body temperature.
Recent studies have shown that around 75% of Americans are long-term dehydrated and symptoms of dehydration can include weight gain, joint and muscle pain, allergies, fuzzy thinking, fatigue and even disease such as arthritis.
How Water Can Aid Weight Loss
Water can aid weight loss in several ways:
- Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Insufficient fluid can lead to overeating as your brain does not differentiate between hunger and thirst
- Water makes you feel full as it takes up space in your stomach
- It replaces other drinks which contain calories such as fruit drinks, alcohol and tea & coffee (if you take sugar)
- Research done at Berlin’s Franz-Volhard Clinical Research Center has shown that water boosts the body’s basic metabolic rate, meaning your body burns more calories when resting
