#2 – Quinoa is Packed with Minerals

Many people don’t consume foods that are high in minerals, and therefore tend to have health problems. However, if you choose to eat quinoa, you will not only get the recommended daily intake of one mineral, but four! These are magnesium, zinc, iron, and potassium. These four minerals combined can give you more health benefits than we can even list. However, quinoa also contains a substance known as phytic acid, which can reduce the absorption of these minerals. The way you can reduce the content of this acid is by sprouting and/or soaking the grain before you cook it. This way you will be sure to get the most out of these four minerals. An interesting fact is that even the Inca warriors used quinoa for a fast stamina recovery, which makes it an ancient powerfood.
