#4 – Jimmy White
At 45 years of age and down to 60 in the world rankings you would think that Jimmy White could see his best days were behind him. Add in the fact that in 2008 he had not reached the main draw of a tournament all season before he managed to reach the quarter finals of the World Championship – a tournament in which he had reached 6 finals previously only to lose them all.
White said of his chances “I’ve been playing really well in practice– I made a 147 this morning – and I believe I can still win the world championship.”
He didn’t.
