#5 – Greg Rutherford
Despite winning a gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012, sponsors Nike refused to give Rutherford an improved deal. Perhaps it was something to do with the fact that his winning jump of 8.3 meters is the shortest distance to win at the Olympics since 1972.
“It’s as if they’re saying, ‘You’ve done really well at the Olympics but you’ll never do it again and so we’re not interested.'”
You could be on to something there Greg.
