Walmart is a multi-national retail corporation with warehouse stores and discount department stores spread in 27 countries under 55 different names. According to Fortune 500, the enterprise is the world’s largest public corporation and leading global retailer. Everything started back in 1950 when a businessman called Sam Walton bought a store in Bentonville, Arkansas from Luther E. Harrison. He named it Walton’s 5 & 10. He achieved high sales volumes by lowering the prices and by reducing profit margins. By 1968, he made $12.6 million in sales, and by 1975 the sales reached an astounding profit of $340 million.
