#2 Destiny’s Child
One of the lessons learned in the musical career of Destiny’s Child: It’s never too late to succeed!
Originally formed in 1990 as Girl’s Tyme, Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTravia Robinson and LeToya Luckett enjoyed limited success at the early part of their career. Eventually, they were signed up by Columbia Records as Destiny’s Child. Their album ‘Writings on the Wall’ proved to be successful and it produced hit singles like ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’, ‘Bug-A-Boo’ and ‘Say My Name’. Internal conflicts wasn’t avoided which resulted to LaTravia and LeToya quitting the band.
The search for replacement took place and was featured at the ‘Say My Name’ music video. Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin were chosen. After just a few months, Farrah Franklin left the group, which resulted in Destiny’s Child performing as a trio.
Maybe three is the best combination or Michelle Williams is the lucky charm, as the girls of Desntiny’s Child enjoyed massive mainstream success with hit singles like ‘Independent Women’, ‘Bootytlicious’, ‘Survivor’, ‘Soldier’, ‘Lose My Breath’ and ‘Cater 2 U’.
The girls recently confirmed their reunion plans starting off with a comeback album, which will be released in 2014.
