#6 – The Stanley Hotel
The Stanley Hotel in Colorado famously inspired Stephen King to write his chilling novel, The Shining. King stayed in room 217 in the almost deserted hotel, the night before it closed for an extended period. Staff and guests have reported strange happenings in the hotel such as hearing people having parties in the ballroom, when it is in fact deserted and hearing someone play the piano when there is no one there.
