#5 – Another Horrific Leg Snap
On 24th May 1992, long jumper Llewellyn Starks was undertaking his third jump at the New York Games when it all went horribly wrong. By the time he landed in the sand pit, he’d sustained a double bone snap in his right lower leg, with one of the bones poking through his skin. This ended his chances of competing in the 1992 Summer Olympics. It took him two long years to make his first competitive jump following the injury. Where there’s a will, there’s a way….
