#4 – Trift Bridge, Switzerland
At a length of 170 metres, the Trift Bridge is the longest pedestrian-only suspension bridge in the Swiss Alps. The bridge spans the Triftsee lake 100 metres below and despite the bridge no longer being able to take hikers the the Trift Hut (which is what the birdge was intended for) it still attracts over 20,000 visitors a year.
The original birdge that was built in 2004 was replaced with a new, safer bridge in 2009. However, it is still very narrow, prone to swaying in the wind and is only open during the months June – October due to the extreme weather in the Alps.
