#3 TLC
The early 90’s was dominated by three American youngsters who invaded the charts with their crazy, sexy and cool antics! TLC are composed of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Rozonda “Chilli” Tomas and the late Lisa “Lefteye” Lopez.
For a span of 1992-2003, TLC were able to score ten top 10 singles, four number one singles, four multi-platinum albums, and four Grammy Awards. Known for their real and honest lyrics, the trio were behind the classic hits such as ‘Waterfalls’, ‘No Scrubs’, ‘Creep’, and ‘Unpretty’.
Like any other girl group, TLC also experienced a number of conflicts particularly on creative differences with their record company. The fans of the group mourned when Lisa ‘Lefteye’ Lopez passed away in 2003 due to a car accident. A movie inspired by the colorful life of the TLC girls will be featured on the upcoming VH1 biopic “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story”.
