#6 – Audley Harrison
Audley Harrison came to fame by winning Britain’s first super-heavyweight boxing gold medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Soon after he was given a 10 fight broadcasting deal by the BBC. He rejoiced by stating his most famous quote:
“My name is Audley, my name is Audley, my name is Audley, AUDLEY MONEY.”
Despite the big talk his professional career has remained largely unsuccessful with his comeback fight against David Haye in 2010 declared an embarrassment. He only landed a single punch in the bout and boxer Dereck Chisora stated, “I’d never show my face again if I fought like that. It was pathetic. He disgraced himself and he disgraced British heavyweights, he shouldn’t get paid the reported million pounds he is earning after that shambles.”
Ouch.
