#6 – Mauritania
Mauritania is located in the northern part of Africa in the Sahara Desert, and is overwhelmed by poverty and human rights issues. The biggest issue in the country is slavery, as 10 to 20 percent of the population is enslaved mainly because they are considered to be ‘enemies of the government.’ The official government of Mauritania was overthrown in 2008. The population density of this country is 3.36 people per square kilometer.
