#7 – Great Mosque, Mali
The Great Mosque of Djenné is one of the most famous sites in Africa. It was built in the beginning of the 20th century, more specifically in 1907, and has been an enormous attraction in Mali ever since. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. The mosque represents the very center of the community in Djenné.
