#2 – The Aokigahara Forest
At the foot of Mount Fuji lies the Aokigahara forest, also known as the ‘Sea of Trees’ – the world’s second most popular suicide spot after the Golden Gate Bridge. Police have put up signs in the forest stating “Your life is a precious gift from your parents,” and “Please consult the police before you decide to die!” to deter those visitors who may not be planning on leaving the forest. To add to the creepiness, an abandoned theme park called Gulliver’s Kingdom is located nearby, featuring a giant model of Gulliver lying corpse-like and alone.
