#10 – The Nehru-Gandhi Family
Every country has its dominating families in social and political culture, and India makes no exception. Most of India’s independence years have been ruled by a powerful and influential family: Nehru-Feroz Gandhi.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, his daughter Indira Gandhi and her son Rajiv Gandhi have been Prime Minister of India, but faith and enemies decided the last two should die by assassination.
Other members, like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are still performing on the Indian political stage, but with less power than Indira or Rajiv. Still, they continue to be an example of tradition in dynastic leadership in Asian culture.
