#2 – The Curie Family
Most known member – Marie Curie: She was the first person to win the Nobel prize in 2 different domains, the first woman teacher at the University if Paris and the most important scientist in the radiation area. Unfortunately, she died because of radiation exposure.
The Nobel Prize was made to be earned by members of the Curie family. Marie’s daughter, Irene Joilot-Curie won it after discovering that natural elements can be recreated in the laboratory. To put it this way: She made GOLD in a lab! The triumph of Alchemy.
Meanwhile, her sister, Even, decided she didn’t want to be a scientist and chose journalism for her career. She became not just any reporter, but a war-zone one. Towards the end of her days she decided to work at her husband’s side with UNICEF children, a decision that earned her the Nobel prize for peace…ending up just like a Curie.
And because the genius gene is transmissible, Helene, Irina’s daughter, is a nuclear research scientists, while her brother is the Head of The French Research Institute.
