To compile a list of the Top 10 Greatest Scientists of All Time is not an easy task. There is much controversy about most of the scientists, since their brilliant minds often helped humanity to leap forward, but they made mistakes, too. But, making mistakes is just the necessary toll to pay on the way to revealing something amazing. Also, it must be said that there were a lot of great scientists in the ancient world, be it ancient Greece, Rome, China, Persia (Arabia) or Egypt, who achieved spectacular things, especially if keeping in mind the technology and sources of knowledge available to them back then.
Many more may deserve a place on this list; here are some, just to name a few: Mendel, Faraday, Watson, Boyle, Hahn, Flemming, Planck, Da Vinci, Copernicus, Aristotle, Euclid, Hippocrates, Ibn-Sina, Al-Khwarizmi, Zhang Heng, Zhang Zhongjing and so many others. They all contributed to the human advancement in various areas, and on their heritage scientists keep building their achievements on.
However, here is a list of men and women, who have made a real difference in our modern way of living and understanding our world. The order of the names is not that significant, since each one of the scientists made great contributions to various science fields, hence a comparison is difficult, if not impossible.
