White sand beaches, sun kissed skies, beautiful mountainous landscapes and warm and friendly people are just some of the features that make the Caribbean one of the most beautiful regions in the world. If you really want to take a load off, relax and enjoy a wonderful vacation, then the islands of the Caribbean are the place to go. While at the University of the West Indies, I met some wonderful people from all across the Caribbean who gave me insights into some of the best attractions in their countries. I have coupled their suggestions with my experiences in my own country (Jamaica) to compile this list of the top ten places you should visit when you’re on vacation in the Caribbean.
#1 – Dolphin Cove – Jamaica
Dolphins are one of my favourite animals so it is therefore no surprise that I enjoyed my trip to Dolphin Cove two years ago. If you are an animal lover and don’t mind a bit of adventure then Dolphin Cove should definitely be on the top of your list when you visit Jamaica. Located in the city of Ocho Rios, this famous tourist attraction has a beautiful scenery overlooking the sea and provides you with the opportunity to either feed or swim with the dolphins.
One of the good things about this attraction, however, is the fact that there are so many things to do besides interacting with the dolphins. You could go on boat rides, interact and snorkel with stingrays, go on a glass bottom kayak ride, watch the shark show and walk along the jungle trail, which features a wide variety of animals.
