Symptom #8 – Change in Appetite
Eating too much OR not eating enough can both be symptoms of depression. Because depression leads to an overall loss of interest in pleasure from activities, this can extend to eating. For others, eating can become a comfort and relief from their overarching feelings of sadness or worthlessness. Whether depression leads to overeating or undereating is usually related to the key emotions underlying the depression.
