There are certain foods that you may consume regularly, even though you are not aware of the harm they can do to you. These secretly super-salty foods, or for that matter, any very salty foods are bad for you simply because they will drastically raise your blood pressure.
A lot of people in western societies consume enormous amounts of sodium salt daily, and most of them are not even aware of that. This is a huge problem, as around 50 to 70 million people in the United States alone suffer from hypertension. And that is mainly the consequence of consuming a lot of salty foods. Know that too much sodium will very likely increase your risk of a stroke, heart failure, stomach cancer, kidney disease and more.
Many researchers have developed several low-sodium diets to help stop this salt addiction, but there is one problem. Foods containing a lot of salt are incredibly tasty, just like foods that consist of a lot of sugar and fat are. And people simply have a constant burning desire to eat these foods. An average American consumes around 3,400 mg of sodium salt a day, while the recommended amount is less than 2,300 mg. Know that any person over the age of 51 should consume no more than 1,500 mg of sodium daily.
#5 – Precooked Frozen Shrimps
You need to be very careful when you feel like preparing shrimps at home. Our suggestion is that you skip the packages that they offer in big supermarkets. Instead, buy shrimp at a local fish counter. The difference is that precooked frozen shrimp that you can buy at the supermarket is processed with too much salt (around 75 mg alt per ounce), while you won’t find nearly as much sodium salt when you buy them at a fish counter.
