#2 – OTC Pain Relievers
OTC (over the counter) pain relievers such as aspirin, ibuprofen, advil, and motrin are effective to help relieve mild migraines. The goal of these medications is to stop the pain once it has begun. In order for these types of medications to be effective they need to be taken immediately once the slightest pain begins. However, many chronic migraine sufferers take these medications inappropriately (more then the recommended amount) which can lead to ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding.
