We’re bombarded daily with countless messages on how to lose weight and get healthy and most of them come down to two things: eat less and exercise more. #1 Earthing / Grounding
Earthing or grounding is simply standing on an electrically conductive material on the Earth such as grass (ideally wet), a body of water such as the sea or a river, or even wet sand.
As you carry out your life and build up mental and physical stress throughout the day, your body becomes positively charged with free radicals. These free radicals are known to contribute to inflammation which can lead to aging, immune disfunction, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cognitive decline.
Eating foods rich in anti-oxidants can help to neutralise some of these free radicals, but according to some researchers such as Clinton Ober and Dr John Briffa, Earthing can have a much more significant effect.
As free radicals build up an overall positive charge in your body relative to the negatively charged Earth, grounding yourself on a conductive surface as mentioned above helps to supply your body with ‘healing’ electrons.
