#1 – Nelson Mandela Won The Nobel Prize for Peace
Nelson Mandela shared the Nobel Prize for peace in 1993 with Frederik Willem de Klerk, the man who released him from prison and president of South Africa at the time. Both of them fought for racial equality, and Mandela had an extremely important role in ending South Africa’s apartheid. He was brave enough to stand up racism and was awarded for his beliefs and principles.
