#3 – Quinoa has a Low Glycemic Index
If you don’t know, the glycemic index is a measure used to see how fast a food will raise your blood sugar level. The foods that have a high glycemic index are known to cause obesity and are quite bad for your health, giving you risks of getting diabetes or a type of heart disease. Being that quinoa has a low glycemic index, it is safe to say that even if you eat a lot of it, it will always be healthy for you. However, keep in mind that this grain contains relatively high amounts of carbohydrates, making it not the most popular choice for a low-carb diet.
